We understand that every recovery journey is unique, and the challenges you face can vary greatly. To address a range of critical needs, we're offering multifaceted support through the Fire Recovery Grant, tailored to help you navigate specific hurdles on your path to recovery.
When a crisis hits, urgent needs can quickly become overwhelming. Our Micro Grants are designed to provide immediate, short-term support to help you stabilize your housing situation and address critical needs as you begin your recovery journey.
These grants are intended to help cover the cost of essential household items lost or damaged in the fires. This includes items such as, household appliances, furniture, bedding and other basic items necessary to restore livable conditions in your home. The goal is to provide targeted support to help stabilize your living environment and address critical gaps as you begin the recovery process.
These micro grants provide the foundational support you need to stabilize your situation and address critical short-term gaps, allowing you to breathe and plan your next steps.
Beyond immediate relief, securing stable housing is a cornerstone of recovery. Our housing assistance programs are specifically designed for those facing significant challenges in maintaining or securing a home after the wildfires.
For those who lost their homes in the wildfires and are now relocating, this grant provides financial assistance to cover a security deposit for a new rental property. We can fund up to $2,500 to help you overcome this major barrier and transition into a new, stable living environment.
If your employment or income was disrupted by the fires, causing you to fall behind on rent, this assistance can help prevent eviction. We can fund up to $2,500 to help you get caught up on rent, allowing you to stay in your home while you work to rebuild your livelihood.
To ensure our grants reach those most in need, eligibility for the Fire Recovery Grant is focused on individuals and families significantly impacted by the recent Los Angeles wildfires.
You experienced loss of or significant damage to your primary residence due to the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires.
You experienced loss of essential household items as a direct result of fire, smoke, or water damage from the wildfires.
You faced disruption of employment caused by the wildfire, such as your workplace closing, a layoff, or an inability to work due to displacement.
You must meet our low-income guidelines. Specific income thresholds vary by household size and will be assessed during the application process.

Your first step is to fill out our online application form for the Micro Grant. This form gathers essential information about your situation and immediate needs.
Once your initial application is reviewed, a member of our compassionate Better Angels team will contact you to schedule a brief online interview. This allows us to understand your specific circumstances more deeply and answer any questions you may have.
If your application is approved, you will receive the grant funds electronically, ensuring a rapid and secure transfer to help you begin your recovery immediately.
To ensure that we can provide the most effective and equitable support to all eligible applicants, we've established a clear and streamlined application process. It's crucial to understand that all applicants must begin their journey with a Micro Grant application. This initial step allows us to understand your immediate needs and verify your eligibility for broader support.
This is a mandatory first step and the gateway to all other forms of assistance under the Fire Recovery Grant. Please complete the Micro Grant application thoroughly, providing all requested information. Once your micro grant application has been submitted and successfully approved, our dedicated team will then conduct a comprehensive review of your specific circumstances.
Following the approval of your micro grant, and based on the detailed assessment of your situation, you may be invited to apply for additional housing-related assistance. This invitation will be extended if your eligibility criteria align with either of the following needs:

This option is for individuals or families who are facing eviction or significant financial hardship due to being behind on rent payments, specifically because of income loss or employment disruption attributable to the fire incident.
